A measurement of the displacement of electrons from atoms caused by x-rays or by gamma radiation. Acute exposure generally refers to a high level of exposure of short duration; chronic exposure is lower-level exposure of long duration.

- Half-naked man accused of exposing himself at I-5 rest stop: An Orland man arrested after he was spotted tresspassing on a ranch wearing only a flannel shirt and an electronic tracking device on his ankle also exposed himself behind a freeway rest stop a day earlier. On Monday, Tehama County sheriff's deputies received a report of a naked man running in an olive orchard near Barham Avenue behind a rest area on Interstate 5, they said. Deputies chased the man, but were unable to find him. The witness later was able to identify Ronald Marion Guest, 42, from a photo lineup, deputies said Thursday.
